Fab Five Friday

This is our fourth Fab Five Friday.  We encourage you to ponder your Fab Five.  Feel free to share the  outcome of your positive reflection with us!  We truly are blessed by your feedback and participation.

(1) This week, I am grateful for:

Laura: Being able to pour into others even while I feel so very inadequate to do so.  I am also so very grateful for all the support my family and friends have offered this past week.  It has been an emotional ride  with Monica moving in and graduating and the encouraging words mean more than any of you know.
Falen: Technology.  I love that even though I live far from my closest friends and all my family I can still communicate, see pictures and videos, and even pick out dresses!

(2) This week, I enjoyed:

Laura:  My new house guest, my niece, Monica.  As new and foreign as it is to live with a teenager, it has been so great to have her with me.  I  love spending time with her, sharing with her, and pouring the Love of God into her.
Falen:  Swimming!  This Memorial Day weekend, I got to suit up and get in a pool!  It was bliss considering the heat.

(3) This week, I learned:

Laura:  That being convicted by others can be miserable but can also be a very powerful tool to motivate change.  I also learned how much I complain on a daily basis.

Falen: That forgiveness and bitterness cannot coexist.  Mark Driscoll taught me of the continuum of bitterness and forgiveness.

(4) This week, I accomplished:

Laura: Thinking before speaking.  Filtering what I say.  May sound simple, but this is something I struggle with.  I have a long way to go to get where I want to be, but I am doing much better with God as my focus.

Falen:  A ridiculous amount of paperwork and research.  I also accomplished watching a mini-series with my husband on the History Channel.  It was three nights, two hours a show.  I'm not a big TV watcher.... but, I did it.

(5)  I am looking forward to:

Laura:  Spending they day with my best friend with no children and watching Wicked on Saturday!

Falen:  Going to a wedding tonight.  I may not know the bride or the groom, but I get to wear a dress and heels.  (The groom is my husband's co-worker. I promise I am not crashing a wedding. Ha!)

We love to engage our readers,
learn about them,
and get to know them.

Please comment and let us know one or even all
of your Fab Five's of the week.

  1. (1) This week I am grateful for my husband and son. My husband is growing every day as a stronger man of God and he gave me flowers and Toffifay on our anniversary. My son is an amazing young man. So far that I am aware, he is the only 10 year old in existence that insists on watching Nova and Nature on OETA.

    (2) This week I enjoyed going to see the movie MIB-3 with my husband and son in the middle of the afternoon. I took two days of vacation this week (Thursday & Friday). It was really relaxing to walk into The Warren theatre when it was not fully packed and buzzing with people.

    (3) This week I learned logically, in my brain I have forgiven others; however, deep in my soul, I had not. I everyday praying and learning how to let go of the moments in my life that I could not defend or control. I am also praying and learning how to honestly, humbly ask for forgiveness of others for my sin against them.

    (4) This week I learned that I can hold my tongue. It was mentioned in our family lifegroup this week, ‘when speaking to others consider three things before you speak,
    a-Are your words kind?
    b-Are your words positive?
c-Is what you are about to say necessary?’

    (5) This week I accomplished a ton of rebate calculation research, non-approved deduction research and resolution, incorrect customer set-up commission research and resolution and an intense royalty contract review so that I could take two days off work.

    (6) I am looking forward to having time to sit quietly to work on a hand embroidered gift to give to my son.

    Blessings to you, Janey
