I know that any strength I have comes directly from God. Not only is He my strength when fighting against my sinful flesh, He is my strength in reacting to the sinful world. Let me just say...I'm down...I'm tired...I'm weary...it's taking all I have to type this blog...so I'm sharing with you the outcome of the ounce of strength He gave me today. When I feel weak, I try to turn to this song and let it wash over me...
After hearing this today, the Spirit whispered to me and led me to search "strength" on biblegateway.com...His Word, His Truth feeds me and strengthens me once again...
"It is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure." Psalm 18:32
"The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him." Psalm 28:7
"My life is consumed by anguish and my years by groaning; my strength fails because of my affliction, and my bones grow weak." Psalm 31:10
"My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever." Psalm 73:26

Lord, please be my Strength. I can't seem to find my way. I keep falling short. Lord, please be my Strength...cause I don't have anymore. AMEN!

ReplyDeleteSeems many bloggers are down this week. I wrote my weary post on Wed., and I've read several others with the same theme. Must be in the water. :-) Thankfully, we've all turned to scripture to find comfort and reassurance. It's really nice to read that we all struggle now and then. Thanks for sharing.

ReplyDeleteI just commented to my wife about how my personality is such a terrible fit for my job. She agreed. Then she added 'but you are a pastor anyways because God called you'. I think this is an example of God being someone's strength. He Calls you to do something good when you know you aren't equipped for it. Then when you say you don't want to do it, He tells you to do it anyways.
